Autel Updates: MK808 Added Bi-Directional Active Test

Good news, Autel recently published updates to the 808 line of tools. And these updates are specifically massive for the Autel MaxiCOM MK808 Scanner.  Autel MK808 basically performs special functions but lacks bi-directional control or active testing before. In Autel's 808 line, only the MP808 series had bi-directional testing, but this is no more. The MK808 & MX808 can now conduct active tests.  Bi-directional active tests are a critical diagnostic tool for professionals. Because it enables you to issue commands to actuators or components in the car to help establish functionality as you troubleshoot and fix car problems.  If you have an active subscription, all you need to do is to download the system update that is currently available if you haven't done. Then go ahead to install the relevant individual manufacturer updates. Look out for the ones that list active tests as part of what the updates brings. If out of subscription, you need to purchase a subscription t...

Autel MK808 Reset BMW Mini Countryman Check Engine Light

There is a check engine light showing on the dashboard of a 2020 BMW Mini Countryman. So I’m gonna use Autel MaxiCOM MK808 OBD2 Scanner to reset it. It also works on a lot of other makes, models, and years. For more advanced functions, you may choose Autel MK808TS , MK808BT as well. Diagnostics >> EOBD >> Autoscan >> OK >> DTC & FFD >> Read codes  Autel MK808 tells a fault code: P0103: Mass or volume air flow sensor “A” circuit high. In fact, I’ve already changed the mass airflow sensor, but the Mini is still getting a warning light. So I need to use MK808 to clear codes. Clear DTC >> Yes No-fault codes were detected. Let’s start the engine, if the check engine light goes off then it’s done. Yeah, it’s actually gone off. Sometimes if it doesn’t work, you can select a specific vehicle instead of EOBD. In addition, it’s worth mentioning that purchasing the Original Autel Diagnostic Tool on www.obd2shop.co.uk can protect your vehicle from da...

How to Reset BMW Check Engine Light via Autel MK808?

There is a check engine warning light on the 2016 BMW 3 series dashboard, so I’m gonna use Autel MaxiCOM MK808 Scan Tool to diagnose its reason and reset it. I’ve got the MK808 plugged into the OBD2 port. So let’s start, press Diagnostics >> BMW >> Manual selection >> 3 series >> F30/F31/F35 >> Yes Diagnostics >> Control unit >> Drive >> DDE(Engine-Diesel Electronics) >> Read codes The Autel MK808 is giving 2 fault codes: 25F500 - Intake Air Temperature(IAT) sensor signal; circuit open/short to battery(+) 28D600 - HFM(Hot Film Air Mass Meter) signal; circuit open/short to ground or positive terminal. If you don’t know what the codes meant, just put them into Google, it’ll exactly tell how to do it. There is a fault with the mass airflow sensor. In fact, I’ve taken that out and put a new one in. But obviously, the BMW is still getting 2 fault codes and warning light. So I’ll escape back to erase codes. Erase code >> Yes >...

Nissan Qashqai+2ABS Traction ESP Light Reset via Autel MK808

There is an ABS traction ESP warning light on the Nissan Qashqai+2 J10(2008/8-) dashboard, so now I’m gonna use Autel MaxiCOM MK808 Scan Tool to reset it. Plug Autel MK808 connector into OBD2 port, press Diagnostics >> Nissan >> Manual selection >> Europe >> Great Britain >> Qashqai+2 >> J10 >> 2008/8- >> Yes  Diagnosis >> Control unit >> ABS >> Read codes There is a fault code C1102: RR LH Sensor-1. It is the rear left-hand sensor, I’ve put a new ABS sensor in, but I’m still getting the warning light and the fault code. So let’s go back to erase code. The ignition on and the engine off? Yes. DTC’s and freeze data will be deleted, press “Yes” to continue. Codes have been successfully erased. Return back to read codes to verify. Press “OK”. It is telling “No fault codes detected.” But the warning light is still on. Let’s turn the engine off then back on, warning light has gone! This is using Autel MK808 Diagnostic Sc...

VW Polo 6R SRS Airbag Light Reset via Autel MK808

There is an airbag warning light on the dashboard of the VW Polo 6R. So I’m gonna use the Autel MaxiCOM MK808 scan tool to diagnose what are the reasons caused. Connect Autel MK808 with OBD2 port, press Diagnostics >> Volkswagen >> System selection >> 6R - Polo >> Control unit >> Airbag 15 >> Trouble codes As you can see, there are 3 fault codes here on screen: 1 of them seems to relate to the airbag. B100A1B - Active/static - Front passenger side airbag igniter. Resistance too high. So what I should do now is to unclip a connection underneath the passenger seat. Okay, here we go, the airbag light is still on the dashboard, let’s go to clear fault codes first. Press “Clear DTC”. The ignition on and the engine off? Yes DTCs and freeze data will be deleted. Press “Yes” to continue. No-fault codes detected.  Press “OK” to finish. Meanwhile, the airbag light has gone! Assuming that we’ve found the fault codes, and we actually fixed the problems such...
